Found this spot a few months back in Park Slope and it's honestly become my go to. It's a smaller local supermarket but they carry a surprisingly deep selection of Korean and Chinese groceries, the kind of stuff you'd usually have to trek out to a specialty market for. Love that they also work with small local businesses around Brooklyn so you're not just supporting some big chain you're actually keeping money in the neighborhood. The butcher counter is probably my favorite part. They cut whole cows in house pretty regularly so the meat is always fresh and the selection is huge. Whatever cut you're looking for they've usually got it. Staff back there are great too and happy to walk you through options or cut something custom if you ask. Prepared food section doesn't disappoint either. Their sushi is solid for a grocery store and the premade Korean dishes are legit. Banchan japchae all the usual suspects done right. And the kimchi selection is honestly one of the best I've seen outside of an actual Korean market with tons of varieties to choose from. On top of all that the whole place just feels welcoming. Even though I currently live on the other side of Brooklyn, I still shop @ KSlope (329 9th Street), regularly, but have on occasion also used Urban Market (509 Fifth Avenue). The reason I'm willing to drive 20 minutes, when I could easily shop at a "well known" market a 5-minute walk from my apartment, has nothing to do with the wide selection of products available or competitive prices at these two establishments. What brings me back is the outstanding, friendly and hard-working staff. However, I would like to give particular recognition to two very special men, both of whom have gone above and beyond, by showing extraordinary kindness and concern for me a disabled senior. I have known JAIRO for years-- he's always smiling, always ready to help, whether finding my phone I left in one of the aisles, directing me to a specific product, or taking packages to my car. For me, he is the face of Kslope! Recently, I had the pleasure of meeting Angel, the Manager at Urban Market 509 Fifth Avenue. I had finished a nearby appointment, so I went in for a few items. Angel, literally went out of his way, checking to make sure I was able to find everything I needed and then unbelievably car

Very reasonable for the quality of groceries. My fiance and I come from across the park to get groceries, especially from the butcher counter. The quality of the meat and produce is fantastic, and the daily deals make the trip worth it! Also very friendly staff!

I was a loyal patron of Steve’s and was sad to see it closed but so stoked this location re-opened as K-Slope! When K-Slope first opened, their Asian selection was more limited, but I noticed that they’ve expanded their selection and even offer hotpot meat!!! Thin sliced meat can be hard to find outside of specialty grocery stores, so this is a real game changer for my shopping!! Love that I can get most of my groceries done in one place now. THANK YOU!

excited that this is here! so nice to have a solid large scale supermarket with Asian options! it’s not like the last one- everything looks fresh! I spent too much time and money in here. excited to try the ready made Korean wings. the sushi is fresh, the rice is cold though…yes I know it’s frigerated. The steak options look aahhmazing. can’t wait to return.
